* Lead Ophthalmic Technician * 8:00am-4:30pm/Monday-Friday * Full Time/32-Hour Week Akron Campus Ophthalmology Clinic $1,500 Sign-On Bonus Offered!

Summary: Facilitates the daily functions within the Ophthalmology Center and provides supervisory guidance in accordance with standard practices, ensuring coordination of Ophthalmology Center specialized functions.

Provides over-sight of equipment utilized within the practice of Ophthalmology.

Coordinates training/orientation of staff within the Ophthalmology Center.

Prepares patients and performs eye procedures.

Ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards.

Minimum Qualifications: Formal Education Required * High school diploma or equivalent * Possess a current, unrestricted certification for Ophthalmic Technician * BLS certification during initial training and maintain certification thereafter Experience and Training Required * Five (5) years increasingly responsible office experience that has provided leadership skills and knowledge of standard practices and procedures inherent in an ophthalmology office practice.

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications * Skill in operating ophthalmic equipment / computer systems / application packages / business machines utilized within the department * Demonstrates flexibility/adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and demands placed on services as is common with changing reimbursement and managed care targets * Ability to perform in a lead / supervisory role, providing over-sight / coordination of day-to-day operations * Ability to work under stressful conditions and/or work irregular hours.

* Demonstrates full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

* Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

Level of Physical Demands * Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.

* Near visual acuity and eye-hand coordination sufficient to perform testing via various diagnostic equipment and administer topical eye preparations.
