Position Title Adjunct Instructor - Diesel Technology Job Duties Butler Community College is searching for an experienced, energetic Diesel Technology Instructor to teach part-time at our Butler of El Dorado campus.
Classes are taught with a variety of instructional methods including hands on demonstrations, lectures, and online.
The instructor will be expected to teach students about the diesel industry, maintenance, and technology; proper use of tools & equipment, service excellence, safety requirements and regulations, and proficiency in consumer relations.
Requires ability to work well with a diverse student population and considerable (and current) industry experience to prepare students in the aforementioned learning areas.
Prior teaching and/or training experience is preferred.

Qualifications Required knowledge and skills * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) * Experience in using service information systems.
* Ability to operate various types of diesel vehicles and heavy diesel equipment.
* Understanding of diesel engine mechanical systems, ignition systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, computer control systems, steering and suspension systems, drivetrain components, hydraulic and air brake systems, traction control system, etc.
* Ability to lift up to 100 pounds * Good writing and reading skills * Excellent problem-solving skills * Valid drivers' license with clean driving record.
Class A driver's license preferred.
* Valid CDL license or ability to qualify * Working with manufacturing standards (e.g., knowing current standards, up-to-date with the latest technology, experience working with electronics, etc.) Required experience * Minimum of two years experience as a Diesel Technician Required educational background * ASE Diesel Certification * Certificate or Associate Degree (A.A.S.) in Diesel Technology.
* Air Brake Qualified * ASE 609 Qualified (preferred)
