Overview of Responsibilities:
Rooming patients, obtaining their virtual signs and documenting patient medical history into the EMR system (EPIC)
Administering Immunizations to patients ranging in age: all the way from newborn to young adults
Sanitizing and cleaning examination rooms and patient spaces
Assisting in procedures such as circumcisions, suture removals and breathing treatments
Providing clinical support as needed
Our Medical Assistants maintain the workflow of patient care, gathering patient information for the provider, and under the direction of a licensed physician, advanced registered nurse practitioner, or at the direction and under the supervision of a registered nurse, administers drugs, medications, treatments, tests, injections, and inoculations
Perform screenings and prepare patients for examination by provider
Room patients, check their vitals, enter any paperwork they may bring into EPIC, give immunizations, give allergy shots, refill prescriptions, and help with phones
This position will be in the weekend rotation, working approximately 1 Saturday or Sunday (8 am - 1 pm) every 6-8 weeks
Schedule/Shift
Schedule will be assigned a month in advance
Will be assigned four 10 hour shifts between Mon-Fri.
7:30 AM - 6 PM
Monday - Friday
Clinic flow:
We are looking for a medical assistant to provide support at the Tacoma location. The medical assistant stepping into this role will be primarily responsible for providing direct patient care - very minimal administrative responsibilities in this position. These clinics see newborn babies all the way up to young adults. This is a highly vaccination intensive position, candidates must be comfortable administering immunizations to a variety of pediatric patients - newborns all the way up to young adults. They will be asked to support a variety of different procedures as well including circumcisions, suture removals and breathing treatments. High patient volume, these candidates can expect to see anywhere from 18-26 patients dependent on the clinic they are supporting that shift. Patients visit my entails a variety of different treatments including immunizations, well-child checks and physicals
Contract Length:
1040 Hours with potential to be hired directly after satisfactory completion of assignment!
Must Haves:
MA-C through the DOH (no MA-R)
2 years of Medical Assistant experience
Tenure is great
Immunization experience
Must be willing to float to additional locations
