General Statement of Duties
T he head coach displays the ability to manage all aspects of a cheer program, including coordinating high-level practice sessions and providing exceptional leadership and coaching for student-athletes during regional and state competitions. They possess a proven ability to recruit and coordinate the efforts of an assistant coaching staff, manage the team's fundraising efforts while maintaining the highest standards of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Essential Duties
Responsible for the safety, conduct, and protection of cheerleaders at all events
Purchases and controls supplies, accessories, and uniforms
Orders fundraising/spirit boosting materials
Assists with planning and presentation of pep assemblies
Secures and distributes sports schedule to cheerleaders
Communicates with the administration on policies and approval of activities
Responsible for counseling and discipline of cheerleaders
Organizes and supervises cheerleader tryouts
Supervises fundraising activities for summer camp and other cheering activities
Organizes and supervises practice sessions
Maintains appropriate, required financial and scholastic records
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to support management program through previous experience as a cheer coach or cheerleader.
Previous coaching experience, knowledge of the sport, and current understanding of coaching techniques and strategies.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.
Coaches with prior college experience are strongly encouraged to apply
