Who we re looking for
Toyota s Performance Evaluation and Screening group is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role as a Technician in Performance Evaluation and Screening is to safely prepare test vehicles and support static and dynamic evaluations of those vehicles.
Reporting to the Technician Supervisor, the person in this role will support the Performance Evaluation and Screening group's objective to safely and accurately collect and report data both statically and dynamically to support vehicle development for North American Customers.
What you ll be doing
Support Public Road Screening of Toyota mass-production and pre-production vehicles.
Perform all necessary mechanical work to prepare test vehicle for screening evaluation.
Evaluation, inspection, and data collection including measurements and photographs.
Support in-depth investigation to create reports for issues found.
Daily support of vehicle test fleet at the start of the shift (7am) including but not limited to ballast change, camera check, and oil level measurements.
Support remote location testing, including but not limited to Michigan UP, Minnesota, Colorado, California, Nevada, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.
Support driving and route risk assessments.
Support Safety kaizen and 5S.
Requirements:
What you bring
2-year degree in Automotive related skills or equivalent.
Clean driving record (no moving violations in last 3 years). MVR MUST BE RAN
Strong automotive mechanical skills (diagnostics and repairs, alignments, and the theory behind them).
Proficient in the use of Techstream or similar vehicle scan tool.
Proficiency of Excel, Word, Share Point, and PowerPoint.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-up abilities.
Good attention to documentation.
Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
A willingness to learn/practice the Toyota Way and a TBP way of thinking.
A willingness to demonstrate the Toyota Way and to evaluate without bias to own feelings/likings, but with the customer s perspective in mind.

What you may bring
Vehicle performance evaluation experience (static and dynamic).
Advanced Automotive Diagnostics (CAN Data collection/reading, Panel4, strain gauging and load cells, etc).
Experience with trailer towing.
Experience with Off Roading
