Substitute Teachers for SY 2025-2026 There is a great need for excellent substitute teachers in our district.

Rate of Pay: $150.00/day A substitute teacher carries out the absent teacher's prepared lesson plans.

Note: During a prolonged absence as defined by board policy, the substitute is responsible for performing all essential functions identified in the absent teacher's job description.

Qualifications include: * Completed application for a short term or long term substitute teacher license.

Valid Ohio teacher's license or certificate is preferred.

* Meets all mandated health requirements.

* Documented evidence of a clear criminal record and drug test results.

* Demonstrates professionalism and maintains a positive work attitude.

* Skillfully manages individual, group, and organizational interactions.

* Communicates effectively using verbal, nonverbal, and written skills.

* Completes detailed paperwork accurately.

* Organizes tasks and manages time effectively.

* Averts problem situations and intervenes to resolve conflicts.

* Lifts, carries, and/or moves instructional supplies and equipment.

* Performs activities that may require reaching, crouching, and/or kneeling.

* Uses self control, perseverance, and physical skill to manage students.

* Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual.

* Travels to meetings and work assignments.

3122.01 - DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE The Board of Education believes that quality education is not possible in an environment affected by drugs.

It will seek, therefore, to establish and maintain an educational setting which is not tainted by the use or evidence of use of any controlled substance.

The Board shall not permit the manufacture, possession, use, distribution, or dispensing of any controlled substance, alcohol, and any drug paraphernalia as the term is defined by law, by any member of the District's professional staff at any time while on District property or while involved in any District-related activity or event.

Any staff member who violates this policy shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with District guidelines and the terms of collective bargaining agreements.

The Superintendent shall establish guidelines that ensure compliance with this policy and that each staff member is given a copy of the standards regarding unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by staff and informed that compliance with this requirement is mandatory.

Such guidelines shall provide for appropriate disciplinary actions, if and when needed, which comply with the terms of any negotiated agreement.
