The following responsibilities and expectations are given to coaches and advisors.
Responsibilities: * Coordinate the organization and implementation of strength and conditioning workouts in coordination with the head coach of each sport.
* Be knowledgeable about best practices and facilitate researched up-to-date expertise in the area of strength training and physical conditioning.
* Establish schedule and programming for each sport/off-season program.
* Provide and facilitate athletes and coaches with guidance for proper strength and conditioning, performance nutrition, and training methods.
* Work collaboratively with the Activities Administrator to implement a coaching philosophy that is supportive of student/athletes' development.
* Must have strong interest and commitment to student athlete development, with an emphasis on the student as a person.
* Foster a fun, supportive learning environment for all athletes.
* Prioritize the safety of all athletes in the weight room.
* Communicate effectively with student/athletes, coaching staff, parents, and building administrators, regarding program needs and developments.
* Notify the Activities Office of any practices that are canceled.
* Coach should be present to supervise scheduled practices.
* Complete all head coach Continuing Education Requirements as outlined by MSHSL.
Expectations: * Promote the ideals of Delano Public Schools in positive character development of all participants by discussing the importance of education, teamwork, effort, and respect.
* Communicate effectively with student/athletes, coaching staff, parents, and building administrators, regarding program needs and developments.
* Strive to set an example of the highest ethical and moral conduct.
The use of profanity/abusive language is unacceptable.
* Represent the high standards of the district and the community at all times.
Qualifications: * Must have experience in strength and conditioning training.
* Must possess strong organization and communication skills.
* Must be a positive role model with a strong work ethic and a passion for the program.
* Certification through a nationally recognized Strength and Conditioning program preferred (examples NSCA, NHSSCA, USAW) Compensation: $2,900 per season * 3 seasons per year: * August - October * November - February * March - May Application Procedure: Apply Online at:
