Position Highlights

The R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the lab of Dr. Kevin Rhine. The research focus of this position will be how RNA biology changes as a function of neuronal aging, with special emphasis on risk factors for neurodegenerative diseases.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design, conduct, and perform research experiments.

Write manuscripts and progress reports.

Prepare postdoctoral fellowship applications and contribute to other grant submissions.

Serve as a day-to-day mentor for undergraduate and/or graduate students.

Present research at internal lab meetings, local symposia, and national conferences.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of RNA-binding proteins, especially double-stranded RNA-binding proteins

Strong foundational skills in computational analysis of RNA-seq and CLIP-seq data.

Working knowledge of immunofluorescence and immunoprecipitation assays.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neurosciences, Biochemistry, or related field. Dissertation must have focused on RNA editing, including the use of long-read sequencing and CLIP-seq technologies.
