As a Teacher you will be primarily responsible for providing daily educational services (including ESL support) to residents who are in a Transitional Foster Care Program.

This individual will also be responsible for working closely with the certified teacher assigned to the residents to ensure clients are successful in the on-line educational program.

This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Organize and lead daily school activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development for children of a variety ages and educational backgrounds; * Oversee each student's educational plan, provide initial educational assessment and oversee all curriculum development; * Teach curriculum in the areas of basic skills, reading, math, personal hygiene, social skills and/or other educational categories based on the varying ages and educational background; * Participate as a team member and attend meetings with treatment team members to discuss children's behavior in classroom, if necessary; * Work closely with the Program Coordinator and/or Program Manager to provide weekly updates of students; * Attend internal and external trainings, and apply newly gained knowledge on the job; * Serve as a translator to translate both written and verbal communication for program clientele and staff; * Observe and evaluate the child's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health; * Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order during educational sessions; * Plan, schedule, and facilitate educational curriculum in compliance with federal, state, and agency requirements; * Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's level degree in Education, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college; * Active certification by the relevant governing authority, Teaching English as a Second Language/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages certification, or other appropriate accrediting body and additional training to meet the special needs of UC; * At least three (3) years of experience working in a similar role; * Must be CPR, First Aid, and AEC certified upon hire or within 60 days of hire; * Bi-lingual in one or more of the following languages with English: Spanish; * Demonstrated ability to teach students English and all other basic educational topics; * Must be flexible and creative in a diverse work setting; * Excellent attention to detail and highly organized; * Highly motivated and self-managed; * Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills; * Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions; * Must be willing and able to work days, evenings, and weekends, as needed; * Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; * Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S.

to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany.

Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage; * Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; * Documentation of immunity to vaccine preventable diseases or the willingness to receive vaccination, or seek an exemption; * Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
