Job Title: Scientist (Global Capabilities MS&T – Materials and Cryogenics Science)

Location: Devens, MA (Hybrid: 50% onsite — Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; First month 100% onsite)

Duration: 12 Months+ (Possibility of Extension)

Work Hours: 40 hours/week, Core hours 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $75.21/hr. on W2

Job Description:

As a Scientist in Manufacturing Sciences & Technology, you will support the Materials and Cryogenics Science group in managing the lifecycle of raw materials, consumables, and single-use systems used in biopharmaceutical commercial manufacturing. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Technology, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supply Chain, and Global Procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualify alternative raw material suppliers by working with procurement to identify and test new suppliers.

Lead or contribute to technical equivalency assessments, specification comparisons, and material characterization reports.

Support risk assessments and author change controls to maintain GMP compliance.

Support investigations related to materials and consumables manufacturing.

Manage supplier change notifications and evaluate material specifications.

Top Skills / Must-Haves:

Proven technical writing skills.

Experience working in cross-matrix teams.

Project management in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work independently and effectively with multiple stakeholders.

Experience with change controls in GMP environments (preferred).

Investigation experience.

Biopharmaceutical industry experience (preferred).

Requirements:

BS/MS degree with 2+ years of relevant industry experience OR PhD in Material Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related scientific field.

Awareness of cGMP compliance and regulatory agency requirements.

Strong problem-solving skills; familiarity with root cause analysis and CAPA preferred.

Excellent organizational, oral communication, and technical writing abilities.

Effective team player and strong independent contributor.

Familiarity with analytical techniques such as FTIR, SEM-EDS.

Knowledge of data trending, tracking, and statistical analysis software is a plus.
