Summary Provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services under the supervision of a physician.
* Obtains patient history and performs assessment.
* Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
* Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
* Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
Required Credential(s): * BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
* Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
* Verified by local Credentialing Office.
* Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Preferred Credential(s): * Advanced Life Support.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education: * Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
Master's degree preferred.
Additional Information Responsible for daily rounding on all in- house patients, outpatients, and surgical first-assist including endoscopic vein/ radial harvest.
Additional bedside procedures: chest tube placement, thoracentesis, radial arterial line, central line placement, iabp removal.
