Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: Responsibilities * Accountable to assist the RN and surgeon in preparing for surgical procedures, assist in surgical procedures, and prepare for the next case * Handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure * Understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon * Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field Qualifications Job Requirements * Current Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) * American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification Preferred Job Requirements * Previous work experience as a surgical tech * Previous ORT/CST experience.

* Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
