Machine Maintenance Technician - Peoria, Illinois

Machine Maintenance Technician JOB DESCRIPTION Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Basic maintenance and repairs on machines.

* Cleaning and lubricating machinery.

* Performing basic diagnostic tests.

* Checking the performance of the machine.

* Testing damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary.

* Installing and assembling new machines and equipment.

* Maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.

* Diagnosing and repairing machine failures.

* Installing replacement parts.

* Performing regular inspections of machinery and equipment.

* Carrying out preventative maintenance.

* Fulfilling other duties such as building maintenance as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS * A degree in engineering with mechanical specialty is preferred.

* At least two years of cognitive and vocational experience in handling machine and machine parts is required.

* Must exhibit outstanding ability to learn and comprehend the fundamentals of the functioning of machine tools.

* Ability to illustrate general maintenance requisite and simple procedures for operation of various types of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

* Excellent general understanding of CNC controls and schematics.

* Ability to handle multiple projects and to meet deadlines is required.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

* Ability to read and understand regulations and procedures is required.

* Ability to use manual machines (i.e.

lathes, mill, surface grinder). * Willing to travel.
