Student Worker - Neuroscience Student Worker Number of Openings: 1 Purpose/Objective of the Role: The Neuroscience Program is seeking a reliable, friendly, and organized student worker to assist with tutoring students and serve as a teaching assistant for NEUR 110 for Fall and Spring and assist in the laboratory preparations and C.
elegans maintenance for NEUR 362L in the Spring.
Tasks & Responsibilities: * Tutor for NEUR 110: Provide individual or group tutoring sessions for students currently enrolled in the course.
* Teaching Assistant for NEUR 110: * Assist in laboratory setup and clean-up for NEUR 110 * Assist in preparation for classroom activities * Assist in laboratory setup and clean-up for NEUR 362L.
* Maintain C.
elegans strains, including twice weekly chunking and plate preparation.
Qualifications/Skills: ● Must be a current Neuroscience student.
● Must have completed NEUR 110 (or NEUR 250) and NEUR 362L and received a C- or better in both ● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
