Possession of a valid State of Indiana Teaching License in one of the following six areas; 1.

Standard Trade & Industrial - Welding & Cutting 9-12 2.

Occupational Specialist - Welding and Cutting 9-12 3.

CTE Trade & Industrial - Welding Technology 4.

Workplace Specialist - Welding Technology 5.

CTE Trade and Industrial Welding 5-12 6.

Workplace Specialist - Welding 9-12 TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: 1.

Demonstrable skill and knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, base metal preparation, oxyacetylene welding and cutting, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, weld testing, structural and maintenance welding, blueprint reading, electrical principles, and OSHA safety regulations.

2.

Demonstrable skill and knowledge of AWS codes and standards as well as the ability to lead students in successful attainment of AWS SENSE Welding Level 1 certification and other AWS certifications.

3.

Knowledge of IDOE Academic Standards in Welding Technology I & II.

4.

Demonstrable knowledge and skill in hand-held plasma torch use and CNC plasma table operations.

5.

Demonstrable knowledge and skill in custom metal fabrication and safe usage of equipment including ironworkers, hydraulic roller benders, power slip rollers, hydraulic shears, drill presses, band saws, and other various machine tool and metal forming equipment.

6.

Mastery of blueprint reading and math for welders and the ability to teach those skills.

7.

AWS Certified Welding Educator and AWS Plate/Pipe certification or willingness to attain the certifications is preferred but not required.

8.

Experience teaching, working, or managing a metal fabrication operation or in manufacturing operations is preferred but not required.

DESIRABLE PROFESSIONAL CHARACTERISTICS: 1.

Experience in secondary or post-secondary education is desired, but not required 2.

Effective problem-solving, critical thinking, decision making skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff 3.

Demonstrates sincere desire to assist students and build meaningful relationships within the Maconaquah community 4.

Must be proficient in oral communication, written communication, and computer applications 5.

Evidence of career experience showing strong work ethic and proven track record of project completion and the ability to multi-task.

The ability to obtain an IDOE approved Workplace Specialist License through verifiable industry experience: Possession of a valid State of Indiana Teaching License in one of the following six areas; 1.
