Position Type: Elementary School Teaching/Technology Teacher Date Posted: 7/28/2025 Location: Winthrop STEM Elementary Magnet School Additional Information: Show/Hide Position Summary: We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Technology Teacher to join our Elementary STEM Magnet School.
The ideal candidate will integrate technology into an inquiry-based, hands-on learning environment, fostering a love for problem-solving, digital literacy, and 21st-century skills.
The Technology Teacher will collaborate with classroom educators to support STEM initiatives and deliver engaging, age-appropriate technology instruction to students in grades K-5.
Key Responsibilities: * Develop and deliver technology curriculum aligned with district and state standards, focusing on digital citizenship, computer science, and STEM integration.
* Teach foundational computer skills including typing, internet safety, digital tools, and coding using platforms such as Scratch, Code.org, or robotics kits (e.g., LEGO, Ozobots). * Integrate technology across content areas to support student learning and interdisciplinary STEM projects.
* Collaborate with teachers to plan and co-teach lessons using technology to enhance instruction.
* Manage and maintain a safe and effective learning environment in the technology lab or makerspace.
* Provide professional development and support for staff on educational technology tools and best practices.
* Monitor student progress and use assessment data to inform instruction and provide feedback.
* Stay current on emerging technologies and instructional strategies that support elementary STEM education.
* Ensure proper care, inventory, and use of technology resources including hardware and software.
Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred). * Valid teaching certification (Technology Education, Computer Science, or Elementary Education with Tech Endorsement, depending on state requirements). * Experience teaching elementary-aged students, preferably in a STEM or magnet school setting.
* Proficiency with a wide range of educational technology tools, coding platforms, and digital learning resources.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
