Experience: Minimum years of experience required
License: Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC), or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT), or Licensed Registered Nurse with certificate of authority as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Nurse Practitioner with specialty certification in Mental Health or Psychiatry.
Certifications: As required by relevant licensing boards
Must-Have: Completion of continuing professional education for license renewal
Description:
The Behavioral Healthcare Provider develops, coordinates, implements, and provides interdisciplinary services concerning the development and integration of behavioral and biomedical science knowledge and techniques relevant to health and illness.
The provider applies this knowledge to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Provides behavioral healthcare provider services within credentialed scope of practice.
Serves as lead worker or liaison to other support agencies.
Acts as lead worker over lower-level providers or independently develops and implements treatment plans.
Coordinates admission, assessment, evaluation, and treatment plans for clients.
Provides interventions for acute and complex clients.
Handles cases containing numerous factors and problems and provides crisis intervention.
Participates in establishing, implementing, and directing behavioral healthcare programs and treatment system objectives.
Develops and designs treatment intervention techniques and procedures.
Evaluates and modifies treatment systems to be responsive to clients' progress and ability to change behavior.
Evaluates performance of lower-level providers in administering prescribed treatment plans.
Maintains necessary data documents to satisfy requirements of relevant agencies.
Serves as an active member of treatment teams, training sessions, and department meetings.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with facilities and agencies to coordinate referrals and conduct follow-up services.
May require unusual work schedules or arrangements.
May be exposed to clients who may be potentially violent.
May be exposed to unusual noise, odors, or contagious diseases.
May require travel to community sites under contract with relevant departments.
