Examples of Duties Under general supervision, this position's primary responsibilities are to: Examples of Essential Duties * Provide peer support to individuals with substance use and co-occurring behavioral health concerns * Meet with program participants to provide peer mentoring, linkages to resources, and facilitation of contacts with the recovery community * Create participant-driven wellness plans designed to address the barriers to wellness, including; stigma, transportation, basic needs, housing and others as defined by the participant * Provides outreach to the community and distributes literature, brochures, and other related materials in an effort to educate the general public to promote the programs and to reduce stigma * Consistently document all participant encounters and outreach efforts * Participate in, and contributes to, team meetings, providing constructive feedback to support the participants, the peer team and the peer programs EXAMPLES OF OTHER DUTIES Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications Required Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma or appropriate equivalent plus Must meet the MABPCB requirements for CPRS certification plus Either hold a current CPRS credential or be currently enrolled in the Maryland CPRS training and have completed one of the required core trainings Licenses and Certificates Staff are required to be a Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS). A conditional offer may be extended to candidates that are currently enrolled in training to acquire the CPRS certification and have completed one of the core trainings (CCAR Recovery Coach Academy or Wellness Recovery Action Plan Facilitator Training (WRAP) see for additional information). Any staff hired conditionally must obtain the CPRS credential within one year of their hire date to continue in the position.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application, which includes answers to the supplemental questions.
Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes.
Conditions of Employment Staff must be willing to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings.
Physical and Environmental Conditions The work of this classification is generally sedentary, but requires traveling throughout the County and some lifting and carrying in the set up of educational displays and presentations.
Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and fingerprinting checks.
