The English Language Institute seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty members to teach English as a Second Language in-person at several Westchester County locations on various schedules.
Candidates will provide English language instruction to a culturally diverse student body and will use a communicative, student-centered approach to increase students' English language skills.
Requirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess either: * Bachelor's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics or a related field; OR * Bachelor's degree and a TESOL Certificate recognized by an accrediting body with a minimum of 20 hours of teaching practice and observation.
Substitution Qualifications: Consideration may be given to candidates with an ESL/ESOL/EFL/TESOL/TEFL/CELTA/DELTA certificate or related, and/or those with one or more years of teaching experience with adult learners.
The successful candidate must also possess a commitment to communicative language teaching, student-centered methodologies, continued professional development, and the goals and mission of a community college.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: It is preferred that the candidate possess: * Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics or a related field.
* A minimum of one year ESL/EFL teaching experience working with adult learners.
* Personal experience having learned a foreign language is a plus.
Additional Information: SALARY & BENEFITS: $$63.20 per hour.
