ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Responsible for providing instruction and preparing lesson plans based on nationally certified 911 curriculum * Delivers training related to the Public Safety Telecommunications program * Continually promotes students' development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making * Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance * Performs other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING * Associate's Degree * Significant related experience may substitute for education * Minimum of five years of experience in Public Safety Communications * Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills * Demonstrated proficiency in Word Processing and PowerPoint Presentation software, as well as Internet and Email basic skills * Ability to assess and grade the progress of students * Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills * Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the community COMPETENCIES CRITICAL COMPETENCIES * Service Focus * Communication * Quality of Work VERY IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES * Time Utilization * Collaboration IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES * Adaptability * Continuous Improvement PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING * Associate's Degree and certification in Telecommunications and EMD * Must be able to obtain all required Instructor certifications within 60 days of hire date PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS (The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
