Description
Boone Memorial Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our gastroenterology team at the BMH Medical Clinic. In this role, you'll work alongside a team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care, assist with clinical procedures, and support daily clinic operations.

Qualifications
Preferred:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
National certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
Experience working in a clinical or gastroenterology setting
Strong communication, organizational, and patient service skills
Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and treatments
Take and record vitals, medical histories, and chief complaints
Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures
Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, documentation, and follow-up coordination
Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure a clean, safe environment
Support a collaborative and efficient workflow within the clinic
Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards

Physical demands
Ability to perform various motor skills such as standing or sitting for long periods of time, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds) using proper lifting techniques, stair climbing, reaching, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, grasping and arm-hand coordination on a continuous basis.

Required education and experience
High School Diploma and certificate from Medical Assistant program at a credentialed facility.
Preferred education and experience
BLS Certification (Preferred)
Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
EMR Service, 1 year (Preferred)
