Job Details Job Location: Main Campus - North Canton, OH Position Type: Graduate Assistant Salary Range: Undisclosed Description Position Summary Walsh University is a member of NCAA Division II that competes in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

The Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant will assist the Athletic Communications Department in the management of rosters, schedules, statistics, and storylines for all twenty-three Walsh University athletic programs and will assist in the creation of media content.

The Athletic Communications GA will be an integral member of the Walsh Athletic Department regarding the planning, and implementation, of athletics content to engage supporters and promote teams and athletes.

Additionally, this position will assist and perform relevant duties regarding game operations and general athletics office support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities * The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: * Assist in the management of rosters, schedules, and statistics for all 23 Athletics programs through the NCAA and the Walsh Cavaliers website * Serve as the primary contact for some athletic teams as assigned by the Athletic Communications Coordinator, including the writing of press releases and game recaps, roster and schedule maintenance on the athletics website, digital programs, updating student-athlete and coach bios, media relation and production of statistics at home events if applicable.

* Write previews, recaps, and personal interest stories for * athletics.walsh.edu * Assist in the creation and management of all Walsh Athletics media, including photography, graphics and video.

* Assist in the production of live broadcasts for all home competitions.

* Use social media platforms to enhance the reach of content and engagement.

* Assist with other content for the athletics website including written features, development and enhancement of records and archives and general website maintenance.

* Produce presentations for Special Events (ie.

Wall of Fame ceremony and the Annual Awards Ceremony) This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) of this position.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following: Education: Bachelor's degree is required as well as acceptance into Walsh University Graduate Program.

Work Experience: * Experience in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop & lnDesign * Experience with NCAA LiveStats (Genius Sports), Stat Crew and PrestoStats software Skills and abilities: * Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty.

Positive attitude a must.

* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook * Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills * Strong journalistic writing ability and knowledge of AP style * Diligent and organized working habits Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
