Additional Position Information JOIN OUR TEAM GOODMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL - SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAEDUCATOR III POSITION DESCRIPTION: PARAEDUCATOR III - OPTIONS: This position supports students in special education programs with a life skills, functional academic and vocational/transition focus under the direction of a certifi cated special education provider.
Responsibilities include providing individualized instruction in cognitive, academic, communication, social, motor, and adaptive skills as outlined in students' IEPs, and supporting on-the-job training activities, social, community, and transition skills.
Additional duties include assisting with functional and daily living skills (e.g., budgeting, shopping, household chores, functional reading and writing, safety, and transportation), implementing behavioral interventions, collecting and maintaining data to guide instruction, and collaborating with special and general education staff . The role may also involve assisting with personal care and health needs, duplicating materials, providing basic fi rst aid, supervising students across school and community environments, and maintaining program records.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION: This position in Peninsula School District is required by law to meet ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) requirements: 1.
Must show documentation of a high school diploma or equivalent 2.
Must fulfill one of the three following requirements: a.
Completed 72 quarter or 48-semester credits at an institution of higher education, OR b.
Obtained an Associate's (or higher) degree, OR c.
Take and pass the Para Pro Assessment developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Experience in a school setting and working with school-aged individuals is desirable.
The Para Pro Assessment is not currently offered at Peninsula School District.

FUNDAMENTAL COURSE OF STUDY: * FCS training is offered by the district and must be completed as directed by the district.
