Assistant Professor in Business Analytics

Roles The DeVos Graduate School of Management has an immediate need for a qualified Assistant Professor to teach in our DBA and MS in Business Analytics programs.

An earned doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Business, Data Analytics, or a closely related field with substantial graduate-level coursework (minimum of 18 credit hours) in data analytics or quantitative methods.

Fields such as Statistics, Management Science, Information Systems, Operations Research, or Industrial Engineering may be considered if coursework requirements are met.

Responsibilities The candidate must be qualified to serve as an assistant professor, an active member of a dynamic faculty community and an advisor for multiple doctoral students in dissertation research methodology.

Candidates who are ABD but near completion of their terminal degree may be considered.

This position will be physically located in Midland, MI.

Qualifications * Demonstrated proficiency with contemporary data analytics tools and programming languages commonly used in business analytics (e.g., Python, R, SQL), with the flexibility to adopt emerging technologies.

* Strong understanding of data management, data mining, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques in business contexts.

* Experience in teaching and mentoring graduate students in quantitative research and applied analytics.

* Experience designing, developing and implementing graduate level online courses * Preference given to those who have extensive business and online teaching experience.

* Preference is also given to those serving on or chairing doctoral (DBA or PhD) dissertation committees.

* Candidates must be comfortable leading and facilitating problem-based learning and learner-center classrooms.

The candidate hired in this position will be a key member of our faculty and will represent the graduate school and our programming to internal and external constituents.

Fulltime faculty members have a role in advising, admissions, assessment and mentoring adjunct faculty as well.
