Reports To: Head Athletic Coach
The Assistant Athletic Coach is responsible for providing assistance and direction in the area of their specific team's play, practice, and games for the Providence Creek Academy Charter School.

Knowledge- a working knowledge of best practices, our current charter, State and local expectations and how a team should be conducted.
Dedication- a desire to aid all students become the best version of themselves.
Community- Involvement of the team in fundraising activities beyond the school.
Major Responsibilities Include:
Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the Assistant Athletic Coach will:
Must attend/participate in all practices, games, coaching meetings, etc.
Assists with the establishment of the fundamental skills, philosophy, and techniques to be taught.
Assists in maintaining discipline and works to increase morale.
Assists head coach in the preparation of said team.
Assists in providing training rules and regulations to all participating athletes.
Gives constant attention to a student's grades and conduct.
Assists in the guidance and safeguards of each participant.
Follows disciplinary actions set forth by the head coach.
Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of sports equipment.
Examines locker rooms before and after games/practices.
Instills in each player a respect for equipment and school property.
Attends all mandatory meetings set forth by the athletic director or head coach.
Assists in the promotion of the sport by recruiting athletes within the school who are not already participating in sports.
When the head coach is not available to run a practice or a game, the assistant coach will act as the primary coach for that particular day.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
A high school degree
CPR / AED Certified
Experience
5+ years playing or coaching
Skills
Ability to:
Communicate accurately and effectively with various levels of staff, students, and families
Hold players accountable
Understand and implement protocols, procedures, and policies passed down through PCA
Remain organized with filing and systems
Complete all required trackers for equipment
Interview student helpers
Have difficult conversations regarding education and playing time
Compensation:
Compensation: To be determined at the start of each fiscal year by the Head of School, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors and paid as an EPER stipend at the conclusion of the season pending all equipment has been turned in.
