Purpose: Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision.
Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities: * Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in nuclear medicine by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.
* Interacts with patients and co-workers by displaying the values of caring, listening, dignity and respect.
* Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
* Performs all responsibilities of Level I Nuclear Medicine tech including maintains proper records of radiopharmaceuticals and calculates, measures and records patient dose.
Performs all quality control checks on imaging and non-imaging equipment.
Properly identifies all patients and provides instructions for exams.
Competently performs all nuclear medicine exams and codes and tracks exams in RIS.
* Assist with educating staff and student technologists to provide technical guidance and education.
* Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
* Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
* Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program required.
2 Years nuclear medicine experience required.
Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
