History State Role Title: Instructor Hiring Range: Commensurate with Credentials and Experience Pay Band: UG Agency: Norfolk State University Location: Norfolk State University Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties 1.

Teach on-campus undergraduate courses in US History.

2.

Engage in exemplary face-to-face and use the university's learning management system (Blackboard Ultra). 3.

Collegially engage with students, staff, and other faculty members.

4.

Meet university deadlines for submitting grades and other reports.

Please note: This is an on-campus teaching position.

Currently there is not a need for online adjunct History instructors at NSU.

Minimum Qualifications 1.

Must possess a Master's or PH.D.

degree in History.

2.

Demonstrate a strong potential to effectively teach US History.

3.

Demonstrate potential to effectively use a learning management system.

(Blackboard Ultra or similar). 4.

Demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching.

5.

Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, personal integrity, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.

Additional Considerations 1.

Experience teaching US History in higher education.

2.

Possess a PhD in History with extensive graduate coursework in US, American, and/or African American History.
