STREET EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Operates backhoe attachments to excavate for storm sewer construction manhole construction and other similar public works storm drainage functions.

Operates front end loader for loading material into dump trucks backfilling excavations etc.

Operates a blade milling machine and paver for street maintenance and repairs.

Supervises a small crew engaged in the collection of trash litter and other refuse found alongside roadways alleys streets and parking lot facilities.

Maintains services and lubricates assigned equipment and performs minor repairs on vehicles.

Operates additional equipment and/or drives a variety of trucks as necessary to haul grave asphalt dirt cinders etc.

Operates steel wheel roller front end loader excavator skid steer with attachments rotary mower vac-truck dozer welder etc.

Operates patch mobile unit to prepare and mix hot asphalt.

Operates jack hammers salt spreaders and compressors.

Performs some or all of the duties of a street laborer as required or assigned.

May provide heavy equipment assistance to other departments.

Maybe required to work after hours.

Required to perform emergency call back duties outside the normal working hours weekends and holidays and must respond within thirty (30) minutes to "call out". Additional Information STARTING HOURLY PAY: $18.92 p/h MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent (GED) * Four (4) years combination of heavy construction equipment school training: or practical experience in operating automotive equipment.

* Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A or B with Medical Card.

Must meet city's insurability requirements.
