Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Service field recognized by ECI as relative to early intervention or Bachelor's Degree with 18 hours approved as related to early intervention.
Successful previous work experience with young children and families preferred.
Valid Texas Driver's License
Eligible for entry into ECI Competency System Job Goal:
Responsible for providing of early intervention services to young children who are developmentally delayed (0 - 3) and their families. Major Duties:
Plans and delivers an individualized developmental plan of services for each child and his/her family.
Participates as the primary service coordinator for designated children and their families.
Assists with the organization of the assessment process and participates in the collection and review of assessment data.
Participates and coordinates the development of IFSPs for assigned children.
Delivers early intervention services to enrolled children and their families in variety of natural settings, i.e., the home/center/children's community programs.
Oversees health, safety and well-being of children, i.e., adheres to the IFSP recommendations, follows policies on infection control and universal precautions and use first aid and CPR, as needed, during the delivery of services.
Arranges for transportation for children and families. Maintains a valid Texas Driver's License.
Documents all services provided to children and families using required forms and correct grammar/spelling/punctuation.
Completes all required training.
Coordinates and communicates with personnel from other community agencies and public services to meet child and family needs and/or service as a program representative for purpose of public relations/networking.
Maintains a good attendance record in order to ensure integrity of program services.
Establishes open communication with families.
Follows all policies and procedures of the Texas ECI Program, ECI DEBT and participating school districts as these P/P pertain to ECI DEBT.
Works harmoniously with cohorts to generate a productive, cohesive work environment.
Completes and submits all required documentation, i.e., MSRs, travel logs, time cards, etc.

Must be able to work within a modified transdisciplinary team approach/setting.
Must demonstrate a cordial, happy, supportive, flexible attitude when communicating and working with parents, community volunteers and staff.
Must be open to direction and supervision as needed and required.
Must be able to work in variable environments related to temperature, humidity, degrees of cleanliness and other uncontrollable environmental conditions.
Must have the physical ability to do heavy to moderate lifting (up to 35 lbs.), light to moderate carrying (up to 35 lbs.), talking, walking, bending, kneeling, floor-sitting, pulling, pushing, sitting, stooping, standing, climbing, reaching and grasping and must be able to move with agility needed to carry out job duties.
Must have the ability to assist with personal hygiene, feeding, mobility positioning and seizure activity.
Must have the ability to learn and implement early intervention strategies and techniques.
Must be able to use good judgment and maintain emotional control and practice staff safety precautions when under stress.
