About the practice

Become a part of the largest established medical group practice in the beautiful city of Waterville, Maine-- home to the largest museum in the state. Our group was founded in 1922 and became the first ophthalmology practice in central Maine. Our mission is to carry on the goal to deliver individualized medical and surgical eye care with compassion.

In order to ensure quality eye care and customer service, we pride our practice with a state-of-the-art facility comprising of 3 exam lanes and the latest tools and equipment including but not limited to the following:

About the OD position

Our practice continues to grow and so we are in need of two (2) full-time/Part-time optometrists to join our elite group of four MDs and four ODs. Our optometrists will see around 20-22 patients a day. (But before covid it was 25-30 and we hope to get back there). The new candidates are expected to be dedicated to providing the highest quality eye care possible to our patients and to

Perform comprehensive eye exam

Prescribe treatments to ocular diseases

Collaborate with our ophthalmologists

Explain medical purpose and processes to patients

Our group has a total of 4 locations in Maine but the 2 candidates will only practice in our Waterville location. We have a technician and support staff to assist with attending to the doctors and patients' needs and 9 staff members 5 are OD and 4 are MDs

Other requirements include:

Doctor of Optometry degree

Licensed to practice in Maine

Days: 5-weekday job and at least one Saturday a month

Clinic hours: 8 AM to 5 PM
