COTA- Certified occupational Therapy Assistant for Pineknoll Rehabilitation Centre
We are looking for applicants who have their Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure
We are a looking to bring on to our team, COTA's who truly care about treating residents with respect and dignity, as well as other team members.
Supervision received: Reports directly to the immediate supervising OTR
Typical Physical Demands: Therapy Assistant must be able to perform the following physical job functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
Lift up to 50lbs from floor to knuckle occasionally
Lift up to 25lbs from knuckle to shoulder occasionally
Lift up to 10lbs overhead occasionally
Pivot transfer 150lbs occasionally
Carry up to 50lbs occasionally
Push/Pull 75lbs, 100ft occasionally
Kneel, squat, stoop up to 15 minutes occasionally
Drive up to 2 hours occasionally
Comprehensible verbal communication skills continuously
Visual acuity corrected to 20/20
Tactile discrimination
Fine hand manipulation, bilaterally frequently
Heavy grasp, bilaterally frequently
Legible written communication skills continuously
Stand up to 2 hours frequently
COTA Duties include:
The COTA may conduct general activity programs and supportive or maintenance programs. He/She may not plan or evaluate individual or group treatment needs, but may make recommendations to the supervising OTR for consideration.
It is the responsibility of the COTA to keep communication with the other personnel regarding the patient's total treatment program, especially to the OTR who will need to make appropriate altercations in treatment program need for a specific patient, the COTA is responsible for maintaining accurate records of treatments given and all appropriated paperwork according to the policies of the company with supervising Registered Occupational Therapist to co-sign all progress notes.
COTA staff members are required to follow all established policies and procedures of the company
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience:
Hold current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board
Hold a permanent or be eligible to apply to apply for a COTA license to practice in the state (as applicable) through the Board of Medical Examiners.
Strong recommendation of membership to the American Occupational Therapy Association and State organizations.
