Special Education Paraprofessional - 1:1 Coburn Elementary Coburn Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Paraprofessional to provide individualized support to a student with unique learning and/or behavioral needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher and related service providers to reinforce instruction, encourage independence, and foster a safe, supportive learning environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide direct support to an assigned student to reinforce learning of materials and skills introduced by the teacher.
* Assist the teacher in implementing individualized strategies tailored to the student's specific needs, interests, and abilities.
* Establish and maintain a positive, supportive, and respectful relationship with the student to promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
* Support the student during transitions, emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, field trips, and other school-related activities.
* Assist with lunch, snack, toileting, and clean-up routines as needed.
* Monitor and support the student during playground, cafeteria, bus loading/unloading, and other non-classroom settings.
* Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to support the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and accommodations.
* Participate in professional development and in-service training programs.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, building administration, or Superintendent of Schools.
Qualifications: * Associates Degree or 48 college credits attained or Workkeys, Associate degree preferred.
* Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
* Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed * Familiarity with some data collection is preferred.
* Ability to work with young, active children in the classroom, on the playground, and in the gym during gross motor movement.
Salary: Per Unit D Contract (salary range: $17.67/hr-$22.96/hr)
