Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary:

Implement, repair, trouble-shoot, and operate John and Joan Mullen Center for the Performing Arts in technical aspects, including, but not limited to, staging, audio, theatrical lighting, video, safety, and other related production functions for Mullen Center's performance spaces, classrooms, rehearsal rooms, dance studio, lobbies, and other ancillary rooms.

Lighting/Sound/Video Operations (Days/Nights/Weekends)

Works with various University departments and student organizations, in particular the Villanova Theatre Department (VTD), Academic Departments, Office of Student Life, Office of Music Activities, student groups, alumni organizations, and external clients, coordinating all staff and student efforts to realize the Mullen's educational and recreational objectives.

Reports to the Technical Coordinator/Stage Supervisor I, and Technical Coordinator/Stage Supervisor II to provide periodic updates on progress toward goals, long-range plans, and operational details.

Stage Manage or Assistant Stage Manage Mullen Center performances and events, as necessary.

Flexibility for last minute work calls and variable work shifts.

Requirements:

Event experience as it relates to staging, audio, stage lighting, video, rigging, safety, or other related production and event functions.

Additional Information:

Must be an excellent communicator within an academic environment with an ability to instruct, supervise, and clearly explain technical information, operation, and procedures to diverse audiences (e.g., creative personnel, undergrad and graduate students, production staff, other University departments, academic departments, and external clients.)

Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive relationships.

Physical Demands Summary:

Working at heights, lifting up to 50 pounds.

Wage Rate:

13/HR
