We are assisting our confidential client with the search for a highly motivated Resident Engineer to provide on-site oversight and coordination of a key equipment supplier located in Loveland, Colorado. This role is essential to supporting the design, procurement, and integration of advanced nuclear systems focused on sodium cover gas and fuel handling equipment.

Location: Loveland, CO

Length of Assignment: 12 months

Responsibilities:

Oversee supplier design and delivery of fuel handling and cover gas equipment, managing requirements through to final design and site delivery.

Support the design, fabrication, construction, and testing phases of systems and equipment.

Coordinate and supervise supplier design and fabrication activities, including regular on-site support at the equipment supplier's facility in Loveland, CO.

Identify and ensure compliance with applicable design codes and standards such as ASME, ANS, ASTM, ASHRAE, IEEE, NFPA, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Participate actively in design reviews to ensure technical robustness and compliance.

Develop, propose, and define testing programs; provide oversight during test execution, evaluate test outcomes, and report results.

Act in a project management capacity to oversee supplier performance and deliverables.

Utilize classic project management tools to manage supplier cost, schedule, submittals, and resource allocation.

Coordinate supplier deliverables and ensure thorough, timely review, both independently and through delegation.

Manage the submittal process between the supplier and the client organization.

Provide support to contract administration and commercial teams as needed.

Generate and maintain Statements of Work to clearly define project scope and deliverables.

Execute detailed project planning to ensure program objectives are met on schedule and within budget.

Key Qualifications

Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Other engineering disciplines may be considered if the candidate has relevant experience. M.S. and Doctorate degrees may be credited for up to two and four years of experience respectively.

A minimum of five years of mechanical design experience

PMP certification preferred or equivalent training

Manufacturing oversight experience

Understanding of fabrication travelers, welding, piping systems, and other similar manufacturing processes

Experience defining supplier work scope to include development of SOWs, RFPs and providing direction and

oversight of supplier projects required.

Demonstrated skills in supporting contractual/commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships

Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.

A successful candidate must possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

The ideal candidate will possess experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program.

Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III or Section VIII a plus.

Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications. Estimated Compensation range: $50-$80 per hour. All experience levels considered.About Hansell Tierney
