Placement Range $10.00 Position Type Student Employee Job Category Student General Description Wellness Attendant responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing member relationships/customer service, conduct check-in procedures and answering basic questions regarding equipment use, maintaining the cleanliness of the Wellness Center and associated hallways and vending areas, assisting in the preventative maintenance of equipment, various housekeeping duties.

The Wellness Center Attendant is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and effective and safe functioning of the Wellness Center.

Reports To Assistant Director of Recreation and Fitness What position(s) reports to this position?

None Minimum Education/Experience Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the Fall OR Spring semester OR enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours for the Summer semester OR Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Positive communication and human relation skills.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions 1.

GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: This position requires the person to frequently move about the Recreation and Fitness department facilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to frequently communicate with students, faculty, staff, and others to perform the essential functions of the position.

Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.

This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.

This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and other machinery/devices associated with the Recreation and Fitness department to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.

This position requires the person to occasionally position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to move, lift, push, pull, work on, or operate and/or inspect equipment.

VISUAL ACUITY: This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

WORKING CONDITIONS This position's essential functions are performed in an indoor recreation and fitness facility.

Preferred Qualifications Background in Wellness, Physical Education or Recreation Service Desk/ Reception background Required Training Quarterly Health and Safety Training Work Hours Hours of Operation are Monday-Friday 6am-7pm with extended hours for special events.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement) Essential Functions: Provide information to students, staff, visiting customers and members regarding programming, events, and use of the center.

Greet and address students/employees/members/guests in a courteous and respectful manner.

Check-in students/employees/members/guests into Tutor Track and issue a wrist band.

Ensure that community members renew their membership once expired.

Check out equipment for use while in facility.

Supervise and provide assistance for members while using the facility.

Perform basic level cleaning and preventive maintenance on Wellness Center equipment including fitness and cardiovascular machines, and laundry maintenance.

Enforce Wellness Center policies and procedures including safety, risk management, inventory and equipment usage.

The Wellness Center Attendant will make daily inspections of all areas of concern, and will promptly notify appropriate personnel of equipment or facility repair needs.

Maintain basic lost and found control procedures.

Assist with documentation of incidents and accidents which occur in any part of the wellness center areas.

Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures) Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
