Summary
The Assembly Lead is responsible for executing the company's goals and objectives to meet deadlines in the most effective and efficient manner. They are responsible for the continual assessment of production processes to ensure the team is operating at the highest level of speed and quality to meet client expectations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Ensure and enforce safety requirements and documentation
Responsible for layout of physical workstations to maximize workflow and fluid production
Responsible for production numbers, quality auditing, and employee safety
Train new employees and coach existing employees on proper procedures and proper use of equipment
Act as a primary point of contact with other departments for questions and problem resolution
Troubleshoot missing parts, conflicting information, etc.
Responsible for the upkeep, accuracy and communication of the departments work schedule with building manager
Be a change agent for driving out waste throughout the assembly and packing process
Lead the team while reinforcing productivity and quality driven objectives.
Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision making
Ensure equipment is maintained, while maximizing equipment efficiency
May act as back-up to supervisor in their absence. Responsible for making daily staffing decisions (i.e. granting on the spot time off and/or sharing resources with other departments)
Provide flexibility to other departments and areas as required by the business
Will be required to participate with daily production as workloads dictate

Education/Certification
High School Diploma or GED
Prefer 2 year technical/business degree or equivalent
Experience
1-3 years lead experience in assembly, packaging or manufacturing environment
Experience providing daily work direction to hourly/shift workers
Experience using Microsoft Office Products
Forklift certified, or ability to obtain forklift operating certificate
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
Flexibility to travel between multiple PD locations
Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required throughout the workday
