Position Type: Non-Certified Student Support Services/Lunch Aids Date Posted: 9/25/2025 Location: Stepanski Early Childhood Center District: Waterford School District Additional Information: Show/Hide Position: Building Support - GSRP Lunch Paraprofessional Location: Stepanski Early Childhood Center Minimum Qualifications: * High School Diploma * Willingness to learn and be trained * Communicates effectively * Possess organizational skills * Ability to interact positively with school/community * Ability to interact appropriately with children * Ability to follow all child care center licensing requirements as defined by the State of Michigan * Be capable of bending, lifting, and overhead work as well as physically able to stand two (2) or more hours at a time and utilize stairs * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Additional Preferred Qualifications: * Associates Degree or CDA in Early Childhood * Trained in and experience using the High-Scope preschool curriculum * Preschool aged child classroom or child care experience Essential Functions: * Engages in a positive manner with children while in their presence * Supports children's prosocial development by modeling respect, kindness and compassion for others * Follows all school and licensing procedures to safeguard health and safety of the children, including hand washing, appropriate sanitary measures, playground safety rules, and rules regarding the use of supplies and equipment * Builds a positive rapport with teachers offering positive feedback about children when and where appropriate * Is aware of the number of children in attendance at all times and counts them regularly to insure they are accounted for * Is knowledgeable of fire, tornado, or other emergency procedures * Informs the Lead Teacher of any safety issues or behavioral issues including inappropriate conduct or activity of children when and where appropriate * Completes in-person and online training as required by licensing or the school principal * Basic computer skills * Assists in the preparation of food carts, collection of food carts, cleaning dishes and kitchen clean-up * Performs other duties as assigned by the school principal Reports To: Building Principal Workday/Week: Monday - Friday 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM Starting Date: ASAP Compensation: $12.55 per hour Posting Date: September 25, 2025 Posting Deadline: Until Filled Internal and external candidates may apply by visiting and selecting the icon "Employment" and next, "Job Postings Directory".
