Responsibilities

The Nursing Director of Surgical Services has 24/7 responsibility for their departments

Develop and execute strategic plans for the surgical services department

Provide visionary leadership to foster excellence and collaboration

Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management

Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency

Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure high standards of patient care

Lead initiatives to improve clinical practices and compliance

Recruit, train, and mentor surgical services staff

Promote ongoing professional development for the team

Foster strong relationships with surgeons and other stakeholders

Act as a liaison between the surgical services department and other hospital units

Develop and manage the department's budget

Identify opportunities for revenue generation and cost-saving initiatives

Stay informed about industry regulations and accreditation standards

Implement and monitor policies for regulatory compliance

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the department or organization

Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals

Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, including training and development opportunities

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including HIPAA

Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to improve processes and enhance patient care

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement

Develops and manages budgets, including forecasting and cost control measures

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in surgical services within an acute care setting.

Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and best practices.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
