Assistant Principal for Operations Position Summary: We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative Assistant Principal for Operations to join our high school leadership team.
This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and effective management of the school's day-to-day operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in operational leadership and a commitment to creating an environment that supports teaching and learning.
Experience working in a 6-12 educational setting is preferred.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: 1) Oversee daily school operations, including facilities management, transportation, safety, and security.
2) Develop and manage the school's master schedule, ensuring alignment with student and staff needs.
3) Monitor and maintain compliance with district, state, and federal policies regarding operations and safety protocols.
Budget and Resource Management: 1) Assist in developing and managing the school budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support school goals.
2) Monitor and manage inventories of supplies, equipment, and technology.
3) Collaborate with district personnel to ensure timely procurement and maintenance of resources.
School Safety and Crisis Management: 1) Lead the development and implementation of the school's safety and emergency response plans.
2) Conduct regular drills and training for staff and students on safety protocols.
3) Act as the primary contact for emergency situations, coordinating with law enforcement and first responders as needed.
Student and Staff Management: 1) Oversee attendance policies, monitoring trends and intervening as necessary to promote student engagement.
2) Assist with the supervision of staff and contribute to a positive and professional school culture.
3) Manage school logistics, including substitute teacher scheduling, lunchroom operations, and transportation coordination.
Technology and Infrastructure: 1) Ensure the functionality of school technology and collaborate with IT staff to address issues.
2) Oversee facility improvements and manage school maintenance projects.
3) Coordinate with custodial staff to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Community Engagement: 1) Serve as a liaison between the school and parents/guardians on operational matters.
2) Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders about operational changes or updates.
3) Collaborate with community partners to enhance school resources and opportunities.
Qualifications: 1) Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
2) Valid administrative certification/license required.
3) A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or operational role in an educational setting.
4) Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
5) Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
6) Knowledge of operational systems, safety protocols, and school compliance regulations.
Preferred Qualifications: 1) Experience in both middle and high school operations (grades 6-12). 2) Familiarity with school scheduling software and operational management systems.
3) Experience in leading safety initiatives or facilities management projects.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and aligned with district pay scales for administrative roles.
