Search Number CPJ # 8933 Title Office Assistant 2 (NY HELPS) Category Clerical/Maintenance/Service Department Global Education Office Position Summary This position will be an integral part of the Global Education Office (GEO) by being a main point of contact for assisting international students, study abroad students, and other units on campus who also play various roles and interact with GEO students and programming.
The Office Assistant 2 will primarily assist the study abroad program portfolio while also supporting the overall office with university business processes such as scheduling and preparing reports, budgets, and other forms.
The position requires a high level of efficiency and accuracy in the area of data entry as well as strong organization and customer service skills.
As a 'first point of contact' on behalf of GEO, expressing a friendly, competent professionalism to all is necessary.
We are part of the Enrollment and Student Success division which supports a student's entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation.

The work schedule for this position is expected to be Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities: The Office Assistant 2 (OA2) will provide general reception services for those visiting, calling, and e-mailing the office with various questions.
They will be expected to gain knowledge to be able to answer questions on behalf of GEO when appropriate or refer to the coordinators, directors or other units when necessary.
Other duties are expected to include, but not be limited to: Supporting the planning and execution of study abroad fairs, orientations, info sessions and other related events; Assisting in managing social media accounts, print and web informational resources, and bulletin boards; And supporting the preparation of reports and presentations for internal use or external partners.

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required, but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
Minimum Qualifications for applicants not currently civil service eligible for the title: * Office Assistant 2 - one year of clerical experience.
Preferred Qualifications: * Effective communication skills; written and verbal Salary (Applicant View) $42,641 - $52,413 in accordance with CSEA Salary Schedule, plus excellent benefits.
