Job Description: The History and Philosophy Department at SUNY Old Westbury regularly seeks to hire adjunct instructors to teach courses as needed in the department.

The History and Philosophy Department offers a B.A.

degree in History with a liberal arts track and a social studies track and a B.A degree in Philosophy and Religion.

Philosophy courses are required for the Philosophy and Religion major and serve the general education curriculum.

Candidates for adjunct positions should have a record of high-quality teaching.

We are seeking applicants who can teach the following types of introductory Philosophy courses: * Introduction to Philosophy * Greco-Roman Philosophy * Logic * Ethics If you are qualified to teach philosophy courses in addition to the courses mentioned above, please indicate this in your letter of application.

If you have experience with non-traditional formats (online or hybrid), please also indicate this in your letter.

Requirements: Required Qualifications: A minimum of a Master's degree in Philosophy.

Preferred Qualifications: * Ph.D.

or ABD in Philosophy or closely related field.

* Previous teaching experience at the college level.

* Experience teaching a culturally diverse student population.

Additional Information: The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
