The Atlantic Conservation Coalition (ACC) Deputy Director will support the ACC Director in overseeing the implementation of the ACC's Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CRPG) award from the U.S.

Environmental Protection Agency and Governor Cooper's Executive Order 305 (An Order to Protect and Restore North Carolina's Critical Natural and Working Lands). This senior-level, public-facing position will support the ACC Director in coordinating work across multiple states, state agencies, local governments, and nonprofit land conservation, environmental, environmental justice, and community organizations.

The positions will provide critical organization for and prioritization of work flow of DNCR ACC staff to to assure the ACC program goals are met across multiple tasks and/or projects.

This is a permanent/full time, time-limited position, subject to funding availability, which may last up to 60 months.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Supporting the ACC Director in hiring and managing staff to oversee the implementation and reporting of grant awards.

* Overseeing coordination, and monitoring, and completion of grant-funded projects of all coalition partners and subgrantees including Maryland Department of the Environment, South Carolina Office of Resilience, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, The Nature Conservancy, the NC Coastal Federation, NC State Parks, NC Division of Land and Water Stewardship, Duke University, the Sustainable Forestry and Land Retention Project, and NC Forest Service.

* Ensuring legal and financial compliance with state and federal regulations.

* Compiling, analyzing and summarizing administrative, programmatic, and fiscal data for assessing agency capacity.

* Developing written documents and oral presentations/reports conveying complex information to various audiences.

* Supporting the ACC Director in leading, supervising and directing the work of a professionally diverse team.

Position/Physical Requirements: * Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (flexible schedule totaling 40 hours per week). To receive credit for your work history and credentials, you must provide the information on the application form.

Management Preferences: * Demonstrated experience and knowledge coordinating and managing a large program including budget and federal grant management.

* Demonstrated knowledge of relevant local, state and federal law, general statutes, rules and/or regulations.

* Demonstrated experience in leadership, strategic planning and/or personnel management for a large complex operation.

* Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships and coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders, including department employees, other government agencies, and non-profit organizations.

* Demonstrated knowledge of land conservation, wetland and stream restoration, and/or sustainable forestry.

Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution AND three years of program experience in the area of assignment INCLUDING two years of managerial experience in the public or private sectors involving significant decision-making authority in the planning, organizing and directing of operations in the areas of the assigned program(s) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Division Description: The Atlantic Conservation Coalition office oversees the implementation of the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) award from the U.S.

Environmental Protection Agency and Governor Cooper's Executive Order 305 (An Order to Protect and Restore North Carolina's Critical Natural and Working Lands). The application proposes 21 shovel-ready projects to protect and restore high-carbon coastal habitats and peatlands to maximize carbon sequestration and coastal resilience benefits, and protect, restore, and develop agricultural and forest land, promoting sustainable forestry management practices to increase carbon sequestration.
