Job Requirements Position Summary The Inventory Specialist is responsible for working with Pharmacy administration to ensure: * Appropriate drug purchasing, receiving, and stocking of inventory to facilitate positive patient outcomes Minimum Requirements Education * High School Graduate (GED) Required.
Experience * State Technician Certification: 3 years of Pharmacy experience required; Hospital pharmacy experience required License/Registration/Certifications * State Certified Registered Technician with the Board of Pharmacy * 340B On-line University (must be completed within 1 year of hire date) as applicable Preferred Requirements Preferred Education * N/A Preferred Experience * 340B experience preferred * Inventory management Experience preferred; Preferred License/Registration/Certifications * N/A Core Job Responsibilities * Effectively utilizes technology to transmit and receive orders daily.
* Effectively acquires inventory during periods of vendor stock outs when it occurs.
* Proper placement/rotation/labeling of stock on shelves/carousels/narc station daily.
* All assigned areas of the pharmacy must be stocked and checked for expired medications.
* Reviews price changes within wholesaler catalog, updates and communicates inventory file maintenance as needed.
* Monitors inventory levels on a daily basis and determines order quantities for all applicable vendors according to established departmental guidelines.
* Determines appropriate PAR levels, updates software and reorder points for stock whenever usage patterns change.
* Efficiently executes returns/recalls to wholesaler and reconciles borrow/loans in a timely manner.
* Ensures DSCSA requirements are maintained.
* Receives, fills, and documents interdepartmental orders.
* Creates purchase orders on computer systems and properly distributes hardcopy documentation daily.
* Compiles Direct vendor purchases for monthly reporting and split billing software import.
* Provides customer service to hospital departments regarding inventory inquires.
* Completes required physical inspections of assigned off-site departments and physician practices.
* Communicates effectively and operates as a team player.
