Surgical Instrument Processing Technician

Location: Not Specified

This is a 95-week contract position.

Schedule: PM Shift (3 PM - 11 PM)

Job Description

The Surgical Instrument Processing Technician is responsible for the preparation, decontamination, and packaging of surgical instruments and patient care equipment. The successful candidate will demonstrate familiarity with correct packaging materials, wrapping and sterilization methods, and possess a complete understanding of a case cart preparation system.

Responsibilities

Decontaminate, prep, and package sterilization processes for all surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment.

Utilize computer systems (ABACUS/MICROSYSTEMS) for instrument tracking.

Stand for prolonged periods and handle heavy lifting and pushing of trays and sterilization carts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Certified Registered Central Service Technician or CBSPD certification required.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Basic knowledge of surgical instruments' function and maintenance.

Competency in operating sterilizers.

Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

Basic computer skills, reading and writing proficiency in English.
