Position Summary:
The Department Secretary (DS) serves as the central point of contact for department leadership. The Department Secretary will provide exemplary customer service and display the CMC core values of excellence, compassion, healing, teamwork, stewardship, innovation, and integrity.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma required.
Associate degree in related field preferred.
Experience
Two years' prior experience working in an office environment required.
Prior experience working in healthcare environment preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
None
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
Responsible for opening, reviewing, and distributing mail as needed and completes filing on a regular basis to maintain accurate and up-to-date files.
Responsible for ordering and receiving department supplies in Meditech, which includes Vendors and Material Management.
Assisting in department projects that may include management of MCN Policy and Procedures i.e., editing, downloading, and creating new procedures for department leadership.
Responsible for keeping department forms updated.
Maintain meeting minutes and monthly reports.
Other clerical and administrative duties deemed necessary for departmental operation(s).
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer and Power Point.
Conduct data collection, analysis and make visualizations.
Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
Regularly exercise independent judgement and critical thinking skills.
Remain calm and professional in all situations.
Assist the Emergency group with physician organization and scheduling.
Participates in 75% of council, team and or unit meetings as posted and assigned.
Demonstrate completion of excepted competency, annual education and in-time education on time based on posted past due date.
