Job Description: Respiratory Therapist

Facility Overview

Join a reputable respiratory therapy team at a facility with a total of 341 beds, providing care to a diverse patient population from neonates to adults. Our facility is dedicated to delivering top-notch healthcare services with a strong emphasis on teamwork and professional development.

Position Details

Shift: 12H Night

Shift Hours: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Scheduling: 12-hour shifts with rotation as per department needs

Orientation: 2 Days

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing respiratory care and treatments to patients across various age groups. Key responsibilities include:

Utilizing advanced respiratory equipment including Puritan Bennett 980 & 840, LTV1200, and others as required.

Caring for patients requiring ventilatory support and other respiratory therapies.

Working collaboratively with healthcare teams in critical care environments, including the nursery and emergency room.

Maintaining compliance with hospital dress code and safety policies.

Qualifications

Education: Minimum of an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist; 1 year of experience in specialty areas preferred.

Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NRP.

Licensure: Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License or proof of application.

Software Proficiency: Experience with EPIC documentation system is required within the last two years.

Flexible Availability: Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and floating to other units as needed.

The Respiratory Therapist will engage with a wide array of patients, spanning from neonates to adults, and providing care for various respiratory conditions.
