Job Title: Microbiologist Responsibilities + Lead and provide direction to microbiology lab technicians.
+ Perform microbiology QC analyses, including Total Aerobic and Anaerobic Plate Count, Total Yeast and Mold Count, Pathogen Screening, Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing, Suitability Testing, and Gram Staining.
+ Conduct lab maintenance tasks, such as media preparation, growth promotion tests, stock culture maintenance, and basic housekeeping.
+ Ensure the application of Good Laboratory Practice and accurate data recording in all lab QC test-related activities.
+ Develop and validate laboratory procedures as needed.
+ Comply with company policies, procedures, safety, and attendance requirements.
+ Perform equipment preventive maintenance activities.
+ Work independently with minimal supervision and develop laboratory personnel as necessary.
Essential Skills + Minimum of 5 years of experience in Microbiology.
+ Experience working in a manufacturing environment within a micro lab.
+ Proficiency in microorganism growth promotion and maintenance.
+ Experience with antimicrobial effectiveness testing.
+ Familiarity with basic micro testing, including media preparation, plating, and culture samples.
+ Knowledge of GMP, cGMP, GLP, GDP, and USP methodologies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Biology or Microbiology.
+ 2-5 years of work experience in a microbiology QC laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical, OTC, personal care, or food industry.
+ Familiarity with USP methods and criteria is a plus.
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
