Purpose
Responsible for providing a high-quality dining experience that respects resident preferences and dietary needs, while ensuring compliance with food safety and licensing regulations. Maintains a clean, safe kitchen and provides positive leadership for culinary staff.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range of $62,500 - $65,000, and benefits as stated in the Employee Handbook.
Eligible for 2% increase in pay rate after 90 days of employment with a satisfactory review.
Annual increase in pay rate is merit based, as determined by a comprehensive, written performance review conducted by the supervisor and Administrator.
Qualifications
Degree from culinary institute or certified program, OR equivalent experience in food service and sanitation
ServSafe (Food Protection Manager) and HACCP Certification required
Strong knowledge of geriatric dietary needs, menu planning, and kitchen management
Excellent cooking skills; catering/culinary services management experience preferred
Proven leadership and staff training/supervision skills
Solid math skills for recipe adjustments and portioning
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Knowledge of safe food storage and handling practices
Must pass state-mandated background check and random drug testingEssential Functions
Menu Planning - Develop fresh, balanced menus that accommodate resident preferences, diets, and inventory needs.
Meal Service - Oversee timely, high-quality meal prep and service; lead special events; engage with residents.
Resident Satisfaction - Provide alternate options, review dietary needs, and host monthly feedback forums.
Resident Well-Being - Support nutrition plans, monitor compliance, and communicate changes to care staff.
Financial Management - Control budgets, track costs, and source quality, cost-effective ingredients.
Staff Leadership - Hire, train, and supervise staff; ensure quality standards; manage scheduling and performance.
Sanitation & Safety - Maintain kitchen cleanliness, enforce food safety, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Other Duties - Support marketing/events, participate in MOD rotation, and uphold company policies.Code of Conduct
