We are currently looking for a Full Time Horticulture Specialist to join our Cultural Center Community Gardens Landscape Irrigation team located at the Chickasaw Cultural Center working .
Summary:
Responsible for proper care and maintenance of Chickasaw Cultural Center campus grounds, landscaping, turf, associated gardens and greenhouses.

* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
* Performs all other duties as assigned
* Properly maintain, repair and store landscaping tools and equipment per approved procedures
* Work in greenhouse performing such tasks as watering, potting, seeding, pruning, fertilizing, bleaching of pots, greenhouse upkeep, cleaning and weeding
* Clean, organize and maintain tool sheds
* Haul or spread topsoil
* Ensure proper watering of all baskets, pots, shrub beds, trees and lawn areas lacking automated irrigation systems
* Assist in the routine maintenance and operation of irrigation systems
* Mix and apply fertilizer, herbicides or insecticides onto flower beds, shrub beds, tree rings, lawn, greens or other areas by hand or use of automatic spreaders
* Shovel snow/ice from walks, driveways, parking lots and spread salt in needed areas
* Assist in horticulture led agro tours, learning workshops and virtual education projects
* Operates mowers, string trimmers, aerators, sprinklers, chain saws and other landscaping power and hand tools
* Removes debris, cleans flowerbeds and prunes bushes as needed at assigned facility
* Loads and unloads dirt, gravel, trash and other debris including collection and disposal of waste at assigned facility
* Provides proper remediation techniques to properties impacted by equipment, traffic and construction processes
* Plants seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, shrubs and decorative stones and applies mulch for protection using gardening tools
* Mows the lawn and cleans surrounding landscapes
* Maintains equipment/machinery, systems and building by completing preventive maintenance schedules
