University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: University of Rochester Medical Center: School of Medicine and Dentistry: Pathology & Lab Med **Salary Range or Pay Grade** 250,000-300,000 **Description** The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry/Strong Memorial Hospital seeks a physician faculty member to serve as member of the Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine Service, with additional responsibilities in the Hemostasis/Thrombosis Laboratory.

Expertise or interests in stem cell transplantation, hematology and/or histocompatibility testing could also be relevant in this position.

On-service, night and weekend call for the Blood Bank/ Transfusion Service will be shared with three other physicians.

Physicians with additional interests in general laboratory medicine as well as transfusion medicine are also suitable for this position.

This faculty appointment, rank open, can be structured to include basic, translational or clinically oriented investigation, including participation in established programs in platelet immunobiology, clinical hemostasis and thrombosis, transfusion outcomes research and transfusion immunology.

Candidates with primary training in medicine, pediatrics, surgery, anesthesiology, OB-GYN, etc.

Appropriate protected time will be provided for those with extramurally funded research programs.

**Qualifications** Candidates must have completed medical school having an MD, MD-PhD, or equivalent and be board certified/eligible for NYS license.

Candidates would join the faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, commensurate with the candidate's experience.
